We are equipped to reign! We are called to reign in our identities, in our positions (as sons of God), and in our callings.
The breakthrough in my Christian life was when I understood identity. Without understanding who I was in Christ, I was unable to get into position. And not taking my position caused my call to become cloudy.
When we understand our identity, we can boldly declare that we are loved wholeheartedly. There is no tidying up required before God decides to love us. No one or no one thing could ever change His affections toward us even if we miss it sometimes (Romans 8:38-39).
But position is just as vital. Galatians 4:7 tells us that we are no longer servants, but sons; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Sons take their rightful place on their Father’s lap—the place of surrender, rest and of peace; the nest where sons find security, affirmation and promises forevermore.
Our position, or sonship, guarantees inheritance! And since you’ve been united to Jesus the Messiah, you are now Abraham’s “child” and inherit all the promises of the kingdom realm (Galatians 3:29 TPT).
We cannot stand on our own position or merit to receive that inheritance. It is in the position as sons. He is our sufficiency. He is our provision. He takes care of His family because He loves us without ceasing.
Read with me some of these wonderful passages in scripture that tell of God’s faithfulness:
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19 NKJV). I was once young, but now I’m old. Not once have I found a lover of God forsaken by him, nor have any of their children gone hungry (Psalms 37:25 TPT). Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God (2 Corinthians 3:5 NKJV). Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him (Matthew 7:9-11 NKJV). Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do (2 Corinthians 9:8 TPT).
So, when we are secured in our identities and in our positions, our individual callings become clear. As we cry out Abba, Father, He hears and we see Jeremiah 29:11 manifest; His plans and thoughts unfold that give us a future and a hope.
There is no striving. Reigning is resting!
Reign in identity, reign in your position as a child. Reign knowing that His plan for you is sure to be revealed. Being equipped is knowing you belong to Him—He is your Daddy.
Look with wonder at the depth of the Father’s marvelous love that he has lavished on us! He has called us and made us his very own beloved children (1 John 3:1 TPT).
Amen and amen!
